Mediation and Parent Coordination

Mr. Hale focuses his family law practice in serving as a mediator and Parent Coordinator.  Mr. Hale is a well trained and experienced in mediation which includes assisting parties resolves cases that are high conflict and involving domestic violence.  Further, Mr. Hale regularly serves as a mediator in cases involving complex custody, visitation, child support, property and debt division, spousal support, paternity, guardianship, grandparent visitation, contempt and protective orders.  

    Additionally, a predominate part of Mr. Hale’s practice is serving as a Parenting Coordinator to parents desiring to co-parent their child or children.  In broad terms, Parent Coordination is a process of increasing effective communication and reducing acrimony and discord of separated or divorced parents so both may care for an parent their child or children.

    Most recently, Mr. Hale became certified in the area of collaborative law in an effort to increase alternatives to clients who wish to avoid lengthy costly litigation.

Guardian ad Litem

Mr. Hale has been appointed by the Court as a Guardian ad Litem to objectively advocate for the best interests of minor children in well over a hundred cases in the past fifteen (15) years.  As a Guardian ad Litem, Mr. Hale undertakes an investigation of the case as an arm of the Court, participates in settlement and mediation of the case and ultimately in the trial of the case as a court expert.

Child Custody, Support
and Visitation

Mr. Hale successfully represents client in all aspects of child custody, visitation and support. This representation includes representing clients seek sole or joint legal custody as well as clients simply seeking “standard” visitation or equal parenting time.  

Divorce, Legal Separation and Paternity

Mr. Hale represents clients from filing of the Petition through entry of the final Decree in Divorce, Legal Separation and Paternity matters.  This process will range from representing the client in an uncontested divorce or legal separation through complex custody, property and support litigation.  Likewise, Mr. Hale represented clients in modifying custody, visitation child support, support alimony.

Protective Orders

Mr. Hale has successfully obtained and defended parties in emergency and permanent protective order cases.  Further, Mr. Hale has assisted parties in modification of protective orders and expungement of the protective order from the party’s record.

Guardianships

Mr. Hale has represented parties in all aspects of guardianship cases from the initial filing of the case through trial.  Further, Mr. Hale has been appointed by the Court to serve as a Guardian ad Litem and as an attorney for minor children and incapacitated adults involved in guardianship cases.

Mr. Hale practices exclusively in Family law. While he assists clients with all aspects of family law cases, his practice primarily focuses on serving as a mediator, Parent Coordinator and Guardian ad Litem. He has an AV peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Hale was named was named Guardian ad Litem of the year by the Family Law Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association. Additionally, Mr. Hale was the recipient of the Tulsa County Bar Association 2015-2016 Golden Rule Award for the third quarter.

 

He graduated from Oklahoma State university in 1990 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. He obtained his Juris Doctor in 1993 from the University of Tulsa and was admitted to practice in the State of Oklahoma later that year. Mr. Hale additionally earned a Masters in Taxation from the University of Tulsa in 1999. Mr. Hale currently serves as a vice chair of the Children and the Law Committee for the Tulsa County Bar Association. Additionally, he formerly served on the Quality Assurance Panel for the Tulsa County Family Court.
